Giving Circles


 Giving Circles are the embodiment of collective giving. Giving Circles provide an opportunity for people to join together, pool their financial resources and decide together how to distribute them in the form of grants to small, local nonprofit organizations, often overlooked by larger funding sources. Giving Circles connect like-minded people, create greater impact for the causes that members care about, and build an even stronger community in the process.


Giving circles shift philanthropy from an exclusive, high-net-worth activity into a collective, democratic process where everyday donors pool their financial resources, time, and talents to make a targeted impact together.When individuals come together to collectively decide where their funds go, the dynamic of grantmaking transforms entirely.  Rather than relying on rigid institutional criteria or wealthy gatekeepers, giving circles engage in peer-led deliberation, allowing them to fund smaller, local, or grassroots organizations that traditional foundations often overlook.


This hands-on involvement educates participants on pressing community issues, building civic literacy and turning passive check-writers into active, long-term advocates.Beyond multiplying the financial reach of a single donation, this model fosters deep social connections among members, creates network effects for recipient nonprofits through volunteerism and board leadership, and democratizes who gets to be called a philanthropist.

Why Giving Circles are Important


The number of giving circles, and the number of people who are part of one nationally, tripled between 2007 and 2016 — and then tripled again between 2016 and 2025.


According to Philanthropy Together, an initiative that follows the activity of giving circles, individuals come together to create the change they want to see in the world by joining a giving circle. This way of giving enables people to increase their impact and knowledge, have fun, and connect with their local community. Collective giving has exploded in popularity, growing to more than 4,000 circles in the U.S. with over 370,000 engaged in collective giving, based on Philanthropy Together’s data. Our Giving Circle  is proud to be a part of this profound way to give back to our communities.

How to Join Our Giving Circle


All you have to do to join our Giving Circle is to make a contribution.  Any amount is welcome but, in order to be a voting donor, you must make a contribution of $200 or more.  A voting donor gets to participate in the selection process of our 2027 grantees.  So . . . please click on the DONATE button above and join us.
