OUR IMPACT
Our goal is to support (financially and otherwise) worthy nonprofit organizations that are doing the hard work to help underserved women and children in Philadelphia.
When we talk about impact, we like to focus on the nonprofit organizations that we have helped since 2012.
We are pleased to give grants to the worthy nonprofits that our members vote to fund. But there is so much more to be done than handing out a grant. We work to draw attention to our grantees so that other funders will step up as well. Nationally, only 15% of funds currently awarded to nonprofits go towards nonprofits serving women and children.
The more money GCP raises, the more money we can give away to worthy nonprofits. We are an all volunteer organization with very low operating costs, and no salaried staff. Your gift directly benefits the nonprofit organizations that receive GCP grants.
Why We Care
Listed above are words that describe challenges facing many women and children in Philadelphia. Being a member of GCP gives us the opportunity to help address some of these issues through collective giving to nonprofits identified by our members. What We Learn
Giving circles provide a unique opportunity to meet the people that make nonprofits organizations work. Many GCP members participate in site visits through our grants committee or learn about the issues addressed by local nonprofit organizations through our educational programs. Further, GCP tries to continue ties with grantees beyond the initial funding year. Some GCP members serve as mentors for local nonprofit organizations, sit on boards, or volunteer their time.
Our Impact . . . . large and small.
Giving circles not only provide a learning experience as well as the opportunity to build a relationships between donors and nonprofit organizations. Our impact can be as large as state-wide recognition or as small as teaching one child how to read.
Our Donors
We thought you would be interested in seeing thebreakdown of contributions to our Giving Circle in 2025. As you can see, the bulk of gifts are in the $200 to $250 range and that is what we see as our core donations to each year's campaign. Many of the members at that level were new to GCP. Most members increase their donation after the first year and 35% of our funders contributed in the three highest categories. The more money that we raise, the more money we can give away to worthy nonprofit organizations. In 2025, we had 50 new contributors and look forward to helping our newest members to help other learn about the power of collective giving.

GCP is committed to making our grants available to nonprofit organizations that are often overlooked by larger funders. We believe that organizations that prioritize respect for all individuals are best suited to address the needs of the communities which they serve.

January Grant Application is posted at The Philadelphia Foundation
February Applications are due
March First review of Applications is conducted to determine which applicants move
forward to site visits
April Site visits are conducted The second review of applications is conducted to determine which nonprofits will be considered for presentations
May The finalists will make presentations at a taping which will be shared at a later date to all Giving Circle donors. Eligible donors will vote and the nonprofits receiving our grants will be chosen. The winners will be announced at a celebration event at the end of May.
